A First for Everything

I am not going to pretend I am a blogger or even going to be that interesting. Nevertheless, here I am trying to make like a baby and head out - into the blogging community.

I am pretty involved in the Fantasy Grounds, an online tabletop simulator that's pretty fantastic (you can find more about it here). Most notably, I do a lot of work for the Pathfinder 2 RPG system. I am very enthusiastic about their second edition to the RPG community. It eliminates a lot of the bloat of PF1, tidies up some of the rules, and gives us what I think is a fantastic action system that's simple and straightforward while still leaving it flexible enough to allow for innumerable possibilities. If you are looking for a change of pace from one of the other fantasy based RPGs (such as Wizard of the Coast's 5th Edition), I highly recommend giving it a look.

Speaking of D&D 5E, I am still running a campaign using that ruleset. While PF2 is my new favorite, there's still a clean, easy, and casual play friendliness to 5E that makes it very popular. The current campaign started with running the Out of the Abyss adventure hardback - a very open-ended, DM heavy adventure setting that saw the players take their characters all the way to level 15 as the battled against the forces of the Abyss. Not wanting to end there, the group asked that I let them continue on so I am crafting a follow-up plotline to challenge them as they approach the highest level (20). This journey began with the Demogorgon throwing one final counterstroke against the party which had defeated its material form (banishing it back to the Abyss), sending the party into the void where Orcus, the Demon Prince of Undeath, currently has opened a rift into as he seeks to expand his influence beyond the undying.

So with that as a backdrop, I'll thrust any interested reader into the action that the Heroes of Underdark are currently enduring in their hopes to save the multiverse from losing the Guardian of Death to the one power that would love nothing more than to see the dead always joining the undying.
